WasteIQ is proving to have a business model and an innovative solution that the market demands, and is therefore in need of attracting new expertise and experience.
In exactly that regard, WasteIQ is excited to welcome Ulrikke Voltersvik Hernæs to the board of directors, bringing with her a crucial understanding of the impact of the technological innovation that WasteIQ has on facilitating new circular business models. As a social economist from UiB and NHH, Hernæs's background is in salmon, health economics, consulting and bioprocessing, where data and analysis have been the common thread all the way.
- I think the waste industry is an incredibly exciting place to be right now: Solid and innovative solutions in this field can help us deal with some of the biggest environmental challenges we face today, says Hernæs.
She emphasizes that one of the challenges with the value chain as it's rigged today is that each link is now quite siloed and has low quality in the data flow between them. Here, she believes that WasteIQ can play an important role in supporting data flow and increasing standardization in a fragmented market – independent of systems and suppliers.
- I have great faith that WasteIQ's platform is an important contribution to increased digitization, and as a consequence of this, a more circular waste industry, says Hernæs and concludes:
- I am especially lucky to work with business development and digitalization because I get to work in the cross-section between technology and business, and thus gain a unique insight into the entire value chain. I am very excited to follow this development "from the inside".
